Cataracts occur when the eye’s lens goes clear to cloudy. When cloudiness starts in the lens, it makes your vision less clear. When cataracts first begin in the eye, it generally doesn't cause symptoms. However, the cataract will progress and get larger, and this will affect your life in several ways. As this happens, the patient starts to experience hazy, faded, and blurry vision.
Who Gets Cataracts?
Cataracts can occur at any age, but they are much more common in the elderly. People over 80 have a more than 50% risk of developing them. What Are the Symptoms of Cataracts?

With cataracts, you may notice that your vision is blurry or cloudy and that you have a harder time seeing at night. You may also become far more light-sensitive. Many patients also see halos that appear around lights. Double vision can also occur. If your vision continues to get worse for an adult, this may signify cataracts.
