At Advanced Eye Care, we provide the best in quality eye care. Eye disease attacks people from all walks of life. Cataracts are one of the most common causes of vision loss. Cataracts can affect your vision, and leave you with partial or total eyesight loss if it is not treated in time.
Early Screening and Diagnosis Is Necessary for Cataracts
Early screening and diagnosis can prevent many diseases. An optometrist performs an initial screening to rule out or confirm a suspected diagnosis. If it is determined that you have cataracts, the optometrist will proceed with a treatment plan. These are some of the symptoms you might experience if you have cataracts.
- Blurred vision
- Cloudy vision
- Poor night vision
- Spots seem to be on your glasses
- Seeing halos
- Need more light to read
- Reading tires you out
You may be given special drops before/after the surgery or as a treatment alternative.
Cataract Surgery Co-Management
As a patient, you can ask questions about the procedure, and what to expect afterward. You will be expected to follow the instructions of your care as defined by our optometrist, keep all your eye exam appointments, contact our office if you are experiencing a problem with your vision, use any medications that you are prescribed, and return for your final examination. You will be informed if there are any changes to your post-operative or pre-operative care.
