Advanced Eye Care Hereford
We’ve been serving the Texas Panhandle and surrounding communities for more than 70 years. In the changing landscape of medicine, we are proud to be locally owned - not controlled by private equity or a big box store.
We offer full scope eye and vision care - from newborns to seniors. Our combined experience allows us to assure you that we’re ready to diagnose and treat your ocular issue. Below, you’ll learn more about some of the services we offer.
Specialty Contact Lens Fits
Contact lenses can be a great choice for people who don’t like wearing glasses, but not all eyes are created equal. Due to irregular shape, previous disease, trauma, or surgery, custom lenses may be necessary.
Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eyes are more than just an inconvenience. If left untreated, they can impact your ocular health as well as functional vision. If you’re suffering from dry eyes, schedule an appointment to discuss the best course of treatment. Options may include specialty tear supplements, prescription drops, and in-office procedures to improve tear production or drainage.
Ocular Disease and Diabetes
If you have diabetes, you’re at a higher risk for a variety of eye problems. These may include diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, cataracts and stroke. While we recommend regular eye care visits to everyone, these visits are especially important for diabetic patients. The consequences of not doing so can be severe: diabetes is the main indicator for risk of blindness for people between the ages of 20 and 74.
Pediatric Vision Exams
Children are...skeptical... of any doctor in a white coat. So, it’s understandable that it can be daunting to schedule their first exam. That’s why we strive to create an environment where everyone is comfortable. Whatever visual challenges your child is suffering from, we’ll work with you and them to ensure they get the treatment they need.
We provide free eye health screenings for children 6-12mo as part of our InfantSee program. We test for excessive or unequal amounts of prescription, eye muscle alignment, and signs of eye disease. Routine eye care begins yearly during preschool, or earlier if you suspect they may be having issues. And no, they do not need to know their letters to check their vision.
Full Scope Optometry
If you’re looking for a full-service optometrist in Amarillo, Texas, you’ve come to the right place. At Advanced Eye Care, we’re proud to offer a suite of services that help our patients see better.
